Sehr zum Leidwesen meines Väterchens verbrachte ich meine Jugend mit äußerst elektronisch angehauchter Musik; doch während er Weltmeister darin wurde, auch bei völliger Dunkelheit treffsicher die Sicherung meines Zimmers (und somit meiner Stereoanlage) zu schießen, mutierte mein Mütterchen zum Fan. Sie kannte sich echt gut aus, konnte U96 von den Members Of Mayday und Space Frog von Robert Miles unterscheiden. Was dazu führte, daß wir uns die »Dream Dance 5« — immerhin eine Doppel-CD und für mich als Schüler recht unerschwinglich — gemeinsam kauften und uns wochenweise abwechselten: ich hörte dann die CD, die ich gerade hatte, auf der Stereoanlage und im tragbaren CD-Player (gibt es sowas heute eigentlich noch?), und sie (die Angeberin) im Auto. Und wenn wir beide im Auto unterwegs waren, dann doppelt so laut und mit offenen Fenstern :D
Ein Song also, der mich an jemanden, nämlich mein Mütterchen, und einen ganz geilen Sommer mit einem ganz geilen Picknick am Wasserloch See erinnert: ganz klar Sonic Empire von den Members Of Mayday.

Eltern(teile) die elektronische Musik hören, scheints ja echt zu geben. Letztens entdeckte ich durch nen Bekannten Paul van Dyk, der den wiederum von seiner Mutter kennt. Und sag mal, die Members of Mayday haben nix mit dem Mayday-Festival zu tun, oder?

Doch, die »Members Of Mayday« haben meines Wissens immer die »Mayday-Hymne« kreiert, jede Mayday hat(te) ja ihre eigene… Ohje, ist das lange her… ;)
